Full Term and a trip to L&D

Today marks a milestone in the pregnancy, I am 37 weeks and baby boy Olsen is full term which means if he was born today we'd be good to go and there's a decreased chance he'd have to go to the NICU.

I had an OB appt yesterday and I mentioned to my Doctor that he hasn't been moving much.  Compared to Reese who was a little jumping bean, this little boy is extremely chill.  He moves about twice a day, in the morning and before bed.  Baseline is that the baby should move 10 times an hour and I can't say he's doing that.  So my Dr. did a quick ultra sound and saw how cramped he is and decided it would be best to send me over to Labor & Delivery for some monitoring and to check to see where the umbilical cord was just in case the lack of movement was due to low oxygen levels because the cord was wrapped or anything like that.

I called the hubby and told him I was taking a detour to the hospital.  I arrived around 5:30pm and was on a monitor by 6:30 (gotta love formalities and paperwork!)  After an hour on the monitor it was determined that Baby Boy is doing great and that I'm also having regular contractions that I really can't feel. Baby's  movement was sufficient, oxygen, fluids, and heart rate good and a quick ultra sound showed the cord was in front of him in not in a danger zone. . All good news!  The Ultra Sound tech also showed me a full head of hair along with a cute button nose and I even got to see his eyes open.  Crazy!

Baby needs to pass all tests with a score of  at least 10/18 and he scored a 14 so we were released back home by this time it was around 9pm.

At least I got a sneak preview of the hospital, my private room and the staff.  Now I just need this little boy to pick his Birthday!  21 days to go!
